CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — NASA officials canceled a planned launch today of space shuttle Endeavour due to a hydrogen leak.
The problem is similar to one the space agency encountered in March during the launch countdown of Discovery.
The leak was discovered while the space shuttle was being fueled.
The astronauts had not yet suited up for the planned morning launch.
The launch was to allow Endeavour and its crew to deliver the final segment of Japan’s space station lab, along with more than 600 pounds of food for the six men living at the orbiting outpost.
Eight shuttle missions remain, including Endeavour’s. Each one is dedicated to finishing the station, now 81 percent complete, and hauling supplies, parts and experiments
